About two (2) decades ago, I went to Lagos state Polytechnic Ikorodu to visit a lecturer in the art department , I saw an elegant and cool woman in front of the Mass Communication department just finishing on a movie set .When I engaged her in a chat, It didn’t take me up to 5 minutes to discover she was exceptionally talented and humble. Though the first movie I saw her was #MAKANJU ( 2005/2006) produced by veteran filmmaker WAHEED IJADUADE who is her boss and mentor. As fate would have it, a few years after our meeting , I saw her performance in the movie titled #JENIFA by Funke Akindele in 2008. Her convincingly captivating performance showed she was an embodiment of aesthetic potentials as her performance is loved by fans. Since then, this beautiful talented lady has been doing increasingly greater exploits in the Theatre and entertainment generally.
In 2009, Mosun Filani produced a blockbuster movie titled #IKUEWA. The movie rank as one of the most engaging and deep Yoruba movie in history. The language is laced with heavy proverbs and makes it distinctive. The dialogue and screenplay are superb.
Her performance in 2010 movie #IYOAYE produced by Muyiwa Ademola @authenticmuy gave the play a major lift. A movie that got her 2011 best of Nollywood award nomination. She is not just an inspiration to the younger generation, but to her contemporaries.
