Why I don't collect tithes from church members - Prophet Odumeje (Video)

Controversial clergyman Chukwuemeka Odumeje, popularly known as Indabosky Bahose, has openly declared that he neither demands nor places emphasis on tithing in his church.

He explained that financial contributions like tithes are not a prerequisite for salvation or blessings and should never be the core of Christian doctrine.

In his sermon, Odumeje questioned the widespread practice in many churches where tithing is portrayed as a gateway to divine favour, prosperity, or even heaven.

He condemned such doctrines, describing them as misleading and harmful. Odumeje stressed that giving should be a personal decision between an individual and God, not something enforced by religious leaders as a spiritual obligation.

Odumeje clarified that his ministry is not driven by financial gain but by a mission to prove that Jesus Christ is real.

He explained that his goal is to lead people to the truth about God and to inspire faith through genuine spiritual teachings and acts that glorify Christ—not by collecting money under religious pretenses.

He also tackled the issue of fake miracles, distancing himself from any practices that lack credibility or proof.

Odumeje added that, like TB Joshua, he is dedicated to glorifying God and is prepared to pass on when his time comes.

Throughout his message, the prophet stressed that the foundation of his ministry is Jesus Christ, who he described as the sole source of salvation, deliverance, and power. He repeatedly made it clear that his church does not uphold doctrines that instill fear or confusion about money. Instead, his mission is to guide people toward a sincere relationship with God, free from coercion or exploitation.

The clergyman further stated that other churches that insist on tithing might appear prosperous simply because they have successfully brainwashed their members.
