Nollywood actress Motilola Adekunle has sent a message to women as she spoke on failed marriage.
In an interview with her colleague, Biola Bayo, she said no woman goes into a marriage to leave, and when a marriage fails, nobody wins.
Motilola noted that people now see marriage as a competition. She mentioned how women love to make a scene out of everything. She stated that women love to be right about everything, but she made them know that there is nothing to be right about anymore.
“No woman goes into marriage with the intention of leaving. When a marriage fails, nobody wins. I don’t know how people see it as a competition. I think it is mostly women who want to make a scene out of everything. Who wants to be right about everything? There is nothing to be right about anything anymore.
I am a stubborn goat. I fell in love with acting when I was in SS2. My major challenge is that now, as a director, it’s harder to be an actor”.
In 2021, the Yoruba actress announced her divorce from her air force husband, Mr Adekunle. The movie star said their decision to split was best for both of them as it involved no anger or violence, but due to their consensus.
Despite splitting up, she said their duties as parents to their two children remained intact.
Before the announcement, Motilola had denied rumours of a conflict between her and her former mother-in-law after a report claimed that her mother-in-law felt the actress was too expensive for her son.
