President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appeared to snub Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Saturday during the commissioning of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway.

The event marked the launch of the first 30-kilometre section of the ambitious highway project, which Tinubu described as a major step toward economic growth, national unity, and lasting infrastructure development.

Dignitaries in attendance included Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka, Finance Minister Wale Edun, and several second-term governors such as Hope Uzodimma (Imo), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), and Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos).

As Tinubu arrived, he greeted Akpabio, Edun, and other officials, but appeared to bypass Sanwo-Olu, who bowed respectfully without receiving a handshake.

In his address, Tinubu urged Nigerians to remain patient with his administration amid ongoing economic challenges.

The president highlighted efforts to improve healthcare infrastructure and reduce drug manufacturing costs.

“It is all about the people. We are giving all incentives to everyone to abide by the principles of Nigeria First,” he said.

“I know expectations are still very high, and our people are going through difficult times, but hope is here and it is realisable,” he said.
