Veteran Yoruba actress Tola Oladokun has talked openly about her personal life, explaining why she decided to move out of her husband’s house. The well-known actress, who is famous for her touching performances in Yoruba movies, shared details about this important decision during a recent interview.
The experienced actress made it clear that her decision to move out was not because of any big fight or serious problem with her husband. Instead, she explained that it was a personal and respectful choice connected to her husband having multiple wives, which is called polygamous marriage.
Oladokun wanted people to understand that leaving her husband’s house did not mean their marriage was ending or that they were having major troubles. She stressed that the move was more about creating a living situation that worked better for both of them.
Speaking during an interview with Oyinmomo TV, Oladokun talked honestly about the hard times she faced as both a married woman and an actress when she started her career. She described how society often treated women in the entertainment business unfairly.
The actress explained that people often had bad opinions about women who worked in movies. Many people would make false claims about actresses, saying that women in the movie industry were not faithful to their husbands or had bad behavior.
The actress wanted to make sure people understood that she and her husband are still married. She pointed out that she continues to use his family name, which shows that there is no official separation or divorce between them.
She explained their current living situation clearly: “I still bear his surname, ‘Oladokun’. But my husband has his house, and God helped me build mine. So, I left my husband’s house and moved into my own house. However, I told him I’ll visit on weekends.”
