A report currently circulating on Instagram alleges that singer Davido rejected a cheque of $2.1M (about N3.2B) from Dangote, insisting that all he wants is for him to attend his wedding with Chioma.
Recall that singer Davido tied the knot with his beautiful wife, Chioma, in a highly anticipated white wedding on Sunday, August 10, 2025, in Miami, USA.
The Chivido25 celebration was nothing short of grand, attracting top celebrities and dignitaries from both Nigeria and the United States. Among the notable attendees were Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, Davido’s father Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, Governor Ademola Adeleke, Governor Alex Otti, and nightlife mogul Obi Cubana.
Also present were music stars like D’Banj, Adekunle Gold, Joeboy, Teni, Zlatan Ibile, as well as Poco Lee, Nike Adeleke, Folasade Adeleke, Sina Rambo, and many others. Reports suggest that the glamorous wedding hosted over 1,300 guests.
Even though Davido’s white wedding was worth billions of naira, fresh reports circulating online claim that he turned down a N3.2 billion cheque from Dangote, who had earlier stated that he would be too busy to attend the ceremony.
A viral post on Instagram, shared by the popular blog northern_trending with over 800k followers, claimed that their source was Abba Fantami. According to the blog, Davido and Chioma had visited Dangote at his Atlanta residence to personally deliver their wedding invitation.
However, Dangote reportedly told them he would not be able to attend and instead offered to support the wedding with a cheque of $2.1M (N3.2 billion), which Davido immediately declined.
It is worth noting that Davido often refers to Dangote as his Godfather, once revealing that the billionaire drove him home from the hospital the day he was born.
However, since Davido turned down the $2.1M, Dangote was in total disbelief and had no choice but to attend his wedding.

So l said but I was going to support him with the sum of $2.1-Million but he immediately said no to the offer saying all he needed was my presence at his wedding. So I had no other choice than to be there for my godson David”.
World richest black man ‘Alhaji Aliko Dangote” revealed that he was in total disbelief when he offer Davido $2.1million as his support for his wedding but he rejected it saying all he wanted was his presence at his wedding.
