The family of veteran actress Peju Ogunmola has broken their silence over the unverified reports surrounding the death of her only son, Ayomikun.
It will be recalled that on September 2nd, 2025, Entertainment Region reported the tragic loss of Ayomikun, the 24-year-old son she shared with her husband and colleague, Sunday Omobolanle, popularly known as Aluwe.
Following the heartbreaking news, speculations emerged online claiming that Ayomikun’s death was linked to a bathroom accident.
These speculations only intensified the family’s pain, compelling them to finally speak out.
In a statement issued by Yemi Amodu on behalf of the Ogunmola family, the circumstances surrounding Ayomikun’s death were set straight.
The family categorically refuted the bathroom accident claims and condemned the circulating narratives online, describing them as both insensitive and disrespectful to Ayomikun’s memory.
Excerpts from the statement read: “It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Sola Ayomikun Omobolanle, a jewel, a precious child, and a rising star whose light shone brightly and touched many lives…”
“We wish to clearly state that Sola did not pass away as a result of any bathroom accident, contrary to false reports being circulated online. He was briefly unwell and, during this period, received first-class medical care. Despite the best efforts of the medical team, he peacefully answered the call of his Creator.
“These misleading stories… not only dishonour his memory but also bring unnecessary pain to his loved ones”.
The statement further revealed that Ayomikun passed away at a hospital in Ibadan, Oyo State, after a brief illness, and was laid to rest at Eternal Rest Home in the presence of family and loved ones.
