A throwback video of Nollywood star Zubby Michael slapping a man on a movie set has resurfaced online amid backlash over his alleged involvement in fellow actor Godwin Nnadiekwe’s recent on-set injury.
The viral clip shows Zubby in costume arguing with a man dressed in a black shirt and pink shorts. Despite a warning from the man, Zubby suddenly slapped him, sparking a commotion as crew members rushed in to separate them.
A woman, believed to be the man’s partner, could be heard shouting in the background;
“Don’t injure my husband!”
The resurfaced video has ignited fresh outrage among fans and critics, with many accusing Zubby Michael of having a pattern of aggressive behavior on set.
The clip reappeared online just as news broke that actor Godwin Nnadiekwe was hospitalized after allegedly receiving a forcefu, unscripted kick to the chest from Zubby during a scene that reportedly required no physical contact.
In an official statement released on Saturday, Nnadiekwe’s management confirmed he is undergoing treatment for internal bleeding and that the matter has been formally reported to the Actors Guild of Nigeria.
Social media has since erupted with mixed reactions. While some users argue that Zubby Michael’s on-set intensity is becoming excessive, others are calling on Nollywood authorities to intervene and enforce stricter safety protocols during film productions.
