54-year-old Shaffy Bello has shared that she’s no longer interested in dating younger men, as her priorities have evolved over time.
Speaking on the Dear Ife series hosted by Ifedayo Agoro, Bello revealed she once dated a younger man but now desires a deeper, more meaningful connection.
“There is no need to,” she said when asked if she would consider dating a younger man again.
“I have done it before. I think what I want now is different. When I did it, I was having fun. It was for a season; the season is over. I know for sure what I want now is marriage,” Bello said.
Bello also acknowledged that she still gets attention from younger admirers, particularly on social media, but said she’s no longer influenced by it.
“Well, look, I claim it, I own it, it happens. I am over 50 and young men is sliding to your DM. That is flattering, but the thing is, some of them are badly behaved. Some will come ‘Hi, dear’,” she said.
The veteran actress added that while she remains open to marriage, her perspective on it is now more flexible and less bound by societal expectations.
“I don’t mind marriage and I also… But I have a different opinion when it comes to marriage… I think a lot of people are very rigid when it comes to marriage,” she said.
