Celebrity chef Hilda Baci, who previously held the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon with 93 hours and 11 minutes in May 2023, has announced plans for her next record-breaking attempt.
This time, in partnership with popular tomato paste brand Gino, she aims to set a new Guinness World Record for the Largest Pot of Nigerian Jollof Rice, inviting Nigerians to witness the historic feat.
Since August 22, 2025, Hilda has been teasing details of the challenge, which will see her prepare Jollof rice, often described as the “heartbeat of West Africa” — in a massive pot measuring about 6 meters by 6 meters.
The record attempt is scheduled for September 12, 2025, which coincides with Gino World Jollof Day. In recent videos, Hilda Baci has been documenting the steps she’s taking to reach her ambitious goal.
Snippets on her Instagram page highlight the journey — from building the custom pot to assembling the team that will support her during the challenge.
In her latest video posted today, she broke down the math behind the cooking, explaining how many bags of rice would be required to fill the gigantic pot, while inviting her followers to guess the number in the comments.
