Nigerian influencer Sulaimon Adebayo, popularly known as Pooja, has finally addressed the controversy after activist VeryDarkMan publicly questioned him over a sensitive matter involving the late singer Mohbad’s son, Liam.
VDM had accused Pooja and fellow influencer Mbah of spreading unverified claims back in 2023, alleging that a DNA test had confirmed Liam as Mohbad’s biological son. However, Pooja has clarified that the situation was not as it seemed.
In a post on X, Pooja denied any bias or involvement in pushing a sponsored narrative, insisting he was not influenced in any way regarding the ongoing Mohbad case.
He stated; “Everyone wanted the best for Mohbad’s innocent son… Like everyone, we were all happy about the news and wanted the best for the innocent son.”
He supported his statement with a screenshot of a newspaper headline that had reported on the DNA result at the time. According to Pooja, the publication was credible enough to warrant sharing, insisting it wasn’t a deliberate attempt to mislead the public.
He added; “I was deeply hurt by Mohbad’s untimely passing, like many Nigerians. So when I saw posts suggesting that his child had been confirmed as his, I tweeted out of emotion and genuine concern for the baby’s future.”
“If my tweet was inaccurate or caused any pain, I sincerely apologize. That was never my intention. I’m open to taking it down out of respect for the family.”

@davidoghe: You just dodged a bullet and what could ruin your platform and brand. You’ve done the right thing, you’re trusted and confirmed. It takes a wise man to apologize when is needed. Jeun lo.
@GeniusHawlah: Simple thing to do. Respect man! Ka dobale fun’rara, ko so pe ka ga. No be every war require violence and agidi, you understand this fact and you moved accordingly. Well-done, big man! 🙌🏾.
@HighChiefOkoro: You clearly wanted the son to inherit the earnings of his father’s hard work. You did what every right thinking person should do. So many were caught in the rave of emotions and wanted the child to be able to get a good life even in the absence of his father. If the DNA story has now been proven to be false, then it is a huge pit
