A fresh controversy has erupted over reports that Naira Marley failed to keep a promise he made to Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, amid renewed calls for justice for the late singer.
Mohbad, who passed away on September 12, 2023, left an irreplaceable void in Nigeria’s music industry.
Despite multiple court hearings and police investigations, the circumstances of his death still remain unclear.
Cutie Juls claimed that after Naira Marley was cleared of involvement in the assault on Mohbad, Joseph Aloba reached out to him about the promised 30 million naira.
However, feeling betrayed, Aloba went on to file a lawsuit against Naira Marley.
According to Cutie Juls, the court has since dismissed the case, and Aloba is yet to receive the money Naira Marley allegedly promised him.

According to a recent report by popular entertainment blogger Cutie Juls, Naira Marley had promised Joseph Aloba 30 million naira.
Because of this promise, Joseph Aloba allegedly sided with Naira Marley and shifted the blame for Mohbad’s death onto his daughter-in-law, Olawunmi.
