A lady identified as Dominica Chinwe, who says she was a close friend of the late singer Mohbad, has shared a detailed and emotional account of the troubled artist’s final years.

Speaking in an interview with controversial activist VeryDarkMan (VDM), Dominica shed new light on Mohbad’s run-ins with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), his mental health battles, and his rocky relationship with his wife, Wunmi.

Dominica explained that she met Mohbad through her ex-boyfriend, who was one of the singer’s friends. She recalled being with Mohbad, her ex, and Wunmi at her ex’s Victoria Island home on the day of the infamous NDLEA raid.

Things took a dramatic turn when they heard that Marlian artist Zinoleesky had been arrested. Dominica recounted how they rushed to the Marlian house, only to find NDLEA operatives blocking the entrance. According to her, Mohbad managed to get inside and told her to go live on social media to draw public attention.

She described the chaotic scene as Mohbad confronted the NDLEA officers and tried to stop them from taking Zinoleesky away. The tension escalated further when Wunmi allegedly attacked one of the officers.

She claimed; “Mohbad told us to enter his car and followed the NDLEA bus to the estate gate. They started shooting and rammed his car three times. He jumped out in anger and began exchanging blows. They beat him badly with the butt of their rifles and forced him into their van while he was bleeding.”

She claimed that Mohbad was released later that same night because he had a show lined up in Dubai, but by then, his health had already begun to deteriorate.

“After the NDLEA incident, he was hospitalized and later taken to Aro for mental health treatment because he constantly complained about his head,” Dominica said.

Dominica also made shocking claims about Wunmi’s actions and involvement, alleging that she used laughing gas and once reached out to Naira Marley, accusing Mohbad’s family of planning to harm him. According to Dominica, Wunmi shared private family information with Naira Marley, hoping he would intervene.

She said a UK doctor even offered to treat Mohbad abroad for six months, but things took another twist when Wunmi allegedly shifted the blame onto Dominica’s ex-boyfriend.

Dominica added that even after Mohbad left Aro, he continued to struggle mentally and often asked to be taken to the hospital. His parents reportedly brought in a nurse to help care for him. She claimed that the family eventually made peace with Naira Marley despite the viral video in which Mohbad said, “If I die, it is Naira Marley.”

According to Dominica, Mohbad was not in a stable state of mind when he recorded that clip. She also alleged that another video, where Mohbad warned Wunmi that her family would never know peace if anything happened to him, was filmed back in 2022 but was leaked after his death.

Dominica further claimed that Wunmi once reported Mohbad’s best friend, Bella Shmurda, to Naira Marley for allegedly giving Mohbad a hard substance.
