Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has come under fire from netizens during his 34th birthday celebration.
The Grammy-winning singer stirred nostalgia by sharing a cute throwback photo from his fifth birthday.
Fans pointed out that the Ye crooner first posted a picture of his birthday cake with the number 5 on it, posing alongside his sisters.
It wasn’t long before the post was taken down and replaced with a similar photo, but this time, the number on the cake had been edited out.
The heartwarming image showed a young Burna Boy standing proudly behind his cake, flanked by his two sisters dressed in charming retro outfits.
The subtle edit sparked reactions online, with many speculating that Burna Boy didn’t want to unintentionally promote his rival Davido’s recent album, 5ive.
This is not the first time Burna Boy would be accused of being insecure. in May 2025, during the Met Gala after party, Burna Boy tells DJ to skip Davido’s verse off the hit song Kante.
