Aisha Buhari, the former First Lady and wife of the late President Muhammadu Buhari, who died at an undisclosed hospital in London on Sunday, July 13, has been seen in a viral video weeping over her husband’s passing.

The former First Lady, dressed in black, was seen weeping during Vice President Kashim Shettima’s visit to the family of the late president in London. Shettima made the visit on the directive of President Bola Tinubu.

Accompanying Shettima to the Buhari family were President Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, and Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Maitama Tuggar. The visit has been described as a presidential condolence mission.

Recall that President Tinubu had earlier directed that national flags be flown at half-mast across the country for seven days, beginning on Sunday, July 13. The federal government also extended its condolences to the late president’s family, the people of Katsina State, and all Nigerians, while praying for the repose of his soul.

Her cries echoed through the quiet streets of London as she struggled to compose herself. A young man and woman soon emerged from the hospital to comfort her and gently guided her back inside the medical facility.

The caption accompanying the footage revealed that the woman seen in the video shortly after the former President’s passing was Zahra, his daughter.
