Popular Nigerian singer Davido probably seems not to be on good terms with his colleague, Olamide, following his recent interview that surfaced online.
In an interview that’s now making waves on the popular microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter), online users have accused Davido of disrespecting Olamide by referring to him as “this rapper” while speaking with a group of white podcasters.
During the conversation, Davido tried to recall Asake’s background and mentioned he was previously signed to “this rapper,” a reference many interpreted as a slight toward Olamide, also known as Badoo.
When he was asked about the song he slept on in the past, Davido said it was the song “Story for the Gods.”
While many expected Davido to reveal the owner of the song, the singer refuses to mention the name “Olamide” as he refers to him as “This rapper” who has blown so many crazy artistes, stressing that Asake was signed to him.
It all started when a music platform on X identified as @hypetribeng , uploaded the music video of Davido “Money” featuring Olamide, released in 2015 and accompanied it with the caption; “Davido x Olamide. We Miss this Duo! 🥹💜.”
Responding @effizzzyy responded; “yeah until davido went on an interview to insult olamide.”
@abazwhyllzz reacted; “Please can we see the interview, cos we plenty wey no see am”
and @effizzzyy dropped the interview, further sparking widespread reactions online.
