At the star-studded premiere of Toyin Abraham’s new film Iyalode, which took place at the IMAX Cinema in Lekki, Lagos, actor Ibrahim Chatta shared a fond moment with his ex-wife, actress Olayinka Solomon, and her husband Olasunkanmi Mabinuori.

Ibrahim was seen in a cheerful mood as he linked up with Olayinka’s husband, standing beside him before Olayinka herself joined them.

The trio exchanged pleasantries, with Olayinka giving Ibrahim a warm hug. In a surprising show of camaraderie, her husband unwrapped a bundle of cash and sprayed the actor, after which both men embraced each other.

Ibrahim was previously married to Olayinka, with whom he shares a son named Malik. Their marriage ended under public scrutiny, with both parties offering differing accounts.

In an interview reflecting on their past, Ibrahim explained that a heated argument once led to Olayinka’s family retrieving her belongings from his home, bringing the marriage to an end.

Despite their history, the former couple now enjoy a cordial relationship. “My ex, Yinka Solomon, who is the mother of my firstborn, and I remain the best of friends. I have never been abusive toward women, and most of the stories about me are just rumors,” the 54-year-old clarified.

The Iyalode premiere attracted several top names in Nollywood including Odunlade Adekola, Muyiwa Ademola, Bimbo Ademoye, Mercy Aigbe, Etinosa Idemudia, Aisha Lawal, Blessing CEO and TikTok personalities Peller and Jarvis.

Iyalode, directed by Adebayo Tijani and produced by Kolawole Ajeyemi in collaboration with FilmOne Studios, is a gripping epic centered on power, female leadership, and legacy.

Toyin Abraham, who plays the lead role, described the film as a fierce battle for a coveted chieftaincy title: “The crown doesn’t come without a fight. The battle for ÌYÁLÓDE has begun and only one woman can wear the title.”

The movie features a stellar cast including Kehinde Bankole, Gabriel Afolayan, Wale Ojo, Bukky Wright, Iyabo Ojo, Kolawole Ajeyemi, Muyiwa Ademola and Toyin Abraham herself.

Iyalode is set to hit cinemas nationwide on June 6, with an exclusive advanced screening scheduled for June 5.
