Former World Footballer of the Year, Cristiano Ronaldo, has taken to social media to react to the death of his colleague Diogo Jota and his brother.

Recall that Entertainment Region reported that Liverpool forward Diogo Jota died in a car crash while travelling overnight to catch a ferry back to Britain.

The 28-year-old forward was in a Lamborghini with his brother, Andre, 26, in Spain during the early hours of Thursday when the car caught fire. Both men lost their lives in the accident in the country’s north-west.

According to CNN Portugal, Jota had been advised against flying back to the UK due to recent lung surgery. He was reportedly heading to the Spanish port city of Santander on the northern coast when a tyre burst while overtaking another vehicle, causing the car to veer off the road.

To your family, to your wife and children, I send my condolences and wish them all the strength in the world. I know you will always be with them. R.I.P. Diogo and Andre We will all miss you..”
