Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman (VDM), has shared a video capturing the moment he confronted kidnappers in Edo State.
According to the clip, VDM was traveling in a convoy when they spotted an ongoing abduction ahead. Rather than retreat, they sped toward the scene, with the TikToker urging their driver to keep moving.
Another passenger in the vehicle also insisted they shouldn’t turn back. VDM then leaned out of the moving car, shouting, “See them for front,” before boldly declaring that he would prove to the kidnappers that they are the true “owners of Edo State.”
On reaching the scene, they found a bus attacked by the kidnappers parked across the road, with victims lying beside it—some injured, others lifeless. The TikToker then called on the men around to help him move both the wounded and the dead to the hospital.
He personally helped carry a severely injured man and made sure he was admitted for urgent medical treatment.
Supporters of the activist flooded him with praise and prayers, hailing his courage with kind words while also questioning the government’s commitment to protecting lives and property.
But not everyone was impressed. Some argued that another activist, Harrison, had done even more in Edo State.
Others mocked VDM, labeling him a clout chaser and content creator for filming the incident and sharing it online.
