A viral video has surfaced online showing secondary school students in Taraba State, North-Eastern Nigeria, writing their West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) at night, sparking widespread concern.
According to reports at the time of this report, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) allegedly failed to deliver the English Language exam papers on time, leaving students stranded.
Parents who arrived at the schools to check on their children were shocked to learn that the English exam was being conducted late at night. They described the situation as unacceptable and have demanded an official apology from WAEC.
They argued that WAEC should have postponed the exam rather than subjecting the students to such hardship, especially with another paper scheduled for the following day.
According to them, this kind of incident has never occurred in the state before.
They called on the Federal Government to hold those responsible accountable and take steps to prevent a recurrence.
