Former Super Eagles forward Obafemi Martins, also known as Obagoal, recently sparked overwhelming reactions among online users following a new clip of him with LASMA officers.

Obafemi Martins, who played as a striker for clubs like Inter Milan, Newcastle United, among others, before retiring from professional football, is well known for his lavish lifestyle, investing heavily in real estate and splurging on luxury cars and nightclubs.

In the clip that just surfaced online, 40-year-old Obafemi Martins was mobbed by Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) officers as he stepped out of his Mercedes-AMG G63.

The LASTMA officers praised the former Newcastle star in Yoruba, calling him a “glorious child” and a “son of the soil.”

One officer quickly took a selfie with the 2006 AFCON bronze medallist, while others continued to shower him with praise until he responded. One of the officers said;

“Obagoal, ologo. Omo eko Pataki, number one.”

Note that LASTMA stands for Lagos State Traffic Management Authority. One of the key duties of a LASTMA officer is to promote a culture of traffic regulation, control, and management across the state, ensuring smooth traffic flow on Lagos roads.
